Ilayaraja’s ignore to Mysskin

The audio release of Valmiki took place at the Sathyam Theatre Complex. While the audio was launched by directors Lingusamy and Shankar, it was established by the entire Valmiki team.

What’s novel about the release was that seven lyricists Yugabharathi, Viveka, Thamarai, Pa. Vijay, Na. Muthukumar and Tabu Shankar gave their comments about the lyrics penned by veteran lyricist Vaali in the movie with each one picking out one of the songs.

Speaking at the stage, director Mysskin was all praises for maestro Ilayaraja. He said that any director, no matter how many movie he or she has directed, will not get complete career satisfaction unless he works with Ilayaraja.

Reacting to this declaration, Ilayaraja said that he offered to work with young directors only to give them a possibility to prove themselves. He added that when he was child, he got an opening from Panchu Arunachalam and he had made the best use of it. The specialist music director affirmed that he is not looking for any mediator to get him chances at this stage of his life and he never had one before. Ilayaraja chastised Mysskin by stating that he refused to attend such proceedings as he does not want to get caught up in hypocrisy. Soon after his hot and burning speech, the musician left the phase in a hurry.

leave a comment »

A.R. Rahman is doing a great contract these days. No, it is not just about movie and concerts. A pair of weeks back, he was in Calicut, performing live for the sake of AIDS affected children in an agenda organized by Keraleeyam. Now, he has composed and devoted a melody exclusively for the soldiers of the Border Security Force. The song, along with a video which is now being shot will be soon telecast on all leading TV channels. The song goes ‘Hum Sena Suraksha Baal Veeron Ka Hai’. The BSF guards all global borders of our country and so this is an appropriate tribute to them.

That’s not all. There will be a Rahman autograph at the IPL finals on Sunday. We are not talking about Sivamani’s rhythms if the Chennai Superkings make it to the big day. There are news of a grand final ceremony being planned and Rahman’s Oscar winning work Jay Ho will feature in the event with Bollywood ‘Barbie doll’ katrina Kaif performing to it.

Bharath-Tamanna tree home to be dismantled!

leave a comment »

It had been reported little weeks back that the Bharath-Tamannah starrer Kandein Kadhalai (reconstruct of Hindi superhit Jab We Met) was being shot in the region of Pollachi. A tree home had been built atop one of the trees in which little scenes involving the lead pair were shot. When the crew prepared to dismantle the set, forest officials had requested them to leave it whole because they felt that it would be an added attraction for tourists. However, the life span of this protection seems to be very short. It has been reported that many tourists who visited the spot clambered onto the tree house and this frequent usage has left it in a poor state. It is now a bit wobbly and can fall off any time from its perch. Upon inquiry this director Kannan has directly landed the blame on forest officials for not taking proper care of the structure. They have also determined to take away the structure soon. The tree home was erected by art director Rambon at a cost of Rs. 3 lakhs. So much for a tree home where love had bloomed just a few weeks back!
